Accelerate Fund recognized as Tech Investor of the Year at 2022 Start Alberta Tech Awards

Calgary, AB, November 17, 2022 – Every year, the Start Alberta Tech Awards recognize one investment firm that has demonstrated standout acumen over the last 12 months. This year, on November 17, Accelerate Fund was thrilled to receive the Tech Investor of the Year award for 2022, presented by Kristina Williams, CEO of Alberta Enterprise.

Accelerate Fund supports the growth of early-stage Alberta technology companies with a venture capital fund that matches angel investment. Accelerate Fund investments in 2022 included Truffle, Areto Labs, Virtual Gurus, Helcim, and Syantra as well as follow-up investments in Userful and PayShepherd. Accelerate Fund also won the Tech Investor of the Year Award in 2018.

The award winner is selected based on the number of tech deals, amount of capital invested, and number and dollar amounts of impact in Alberta for the year. Preference is given to those with a strong history of investing in Alberta and who have significantly impacted the growth of Alberta’s tech ecosystem.
